This page explains how audio rights are handled on Instrumental Ringtone and what the rights status on each ringtone page actually means.
What we publish
Only audio that falls into one of these categories is published here:
- Original — created for this site.
- Licensed — used under a licence that permits distribution.
- Public domain — no longer under copyright protection.
- Owner supplied — provided by the site owner for publication on this site.
The status shown on a ringtone page is the actual status of that file. A supplied file is labelled supplied. We do not mark supplied or licensed audio as original work, because that label would be false and would mislead anyone trying to establish where a file came from.
What we do not do
- We do not scrape or copy audio from other ringtone sites.
- We do not copy competitor text, code, branding, layouts or metadata.
- We do not republish user recordings uploaded to other platforms.
- We do not attribute audio to artists who had no involvement with it.
Permitted use of these files
Files are offered for personal, non-commercial use on your own devices: ringtones, notification sounds and alarms. Redistribution, resale, or use in any published or monetised work requires permission from the rights holder. Personal use is not the same as a distribution licence, whatever a download page anywhere might imply.
A note on instrumental versions
Copyright in music covers the composition and, separately, the specific recording. An instrumental arrangement is still derived from the underlying composition. The absence of vocals does not by itself place a piece outside copyright.
Reporting a concern
If you own rights to audio published here, email support@instrumentalringtone.com with the ringtone URL, a description of the work, evidence of ownership and your contact details. The DMCA page lists the full requirements. Valid reports result in removal, and every ringtone page carries a report link for this purpose.
